Co-Founder -
Nancy Adis

  • Nancy is an educator with a wide-variety of experience.  In addition to her work in co-founding RiverRun, she has served on the Board, volunteered as Admissions Coordinator, and continuously been a member of the school's Program Committee. She has also served in an employee capacity as interim teacher, as substitute teacher, and as a resource teacher, working on projects with our oldest students. 
     

  • She has been actively involved in the educational experiences of all of her children - including directing the home school curriculum for one child, teaching American Sign Language at the Gateway Montessori Preschool and at RiverRun, and volunteering in the library, participating as class parent, and working as the PTA's Vice President to coordinate the school-wide arts and education assemblies and programs at Glen-Worden Elementary School. She has participated as a member of S.P.A.C.E. (Scotia Parents Advocating Challenging Education) and as the secretary for Shared Decision Making Committee at Glen-Worden Elementary School. She also has experience coordinating the leadership development programs for Syracuse University students.
     

  • Masters of Science in Higher Education - Student Personnel from Syracuse University
     

  • Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with Marketing and Psychology minors from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
     

  • Teaching Assistant Certificate from Schenectady County Community College
     

  • Employment experience in public relations and marketing activities including event coordination and writing newsletters/brochures/other written pieces. Experience in working with college students and administering leadership development programs and support systems. Experience in administration and data base management. Experience in childcare, teaching/leading activities, and curriculum development in arts and American Sign Language.
