Dear RiverRun Families,
We had a very exciting a productive week. Our Primary friends helped us celebrate Chinese New Year as they played music for us and had a beautiful dragon makes its way through our classroom. Cindy told us a famous Chinese tale about the moon and taught us names of many animals. Jingmae shared her stuffed animal collection with us to help with the story, we thank her for being so kind. Twice this week we rehearsed for the upcoming play. We split up into four group by scene and practice for an hour. The children are doing well. Over break please try to have your children practice their lines.
The Second and Third Years continued to work on fractions, measuring angles, and identifying if the angles as obtuse, acute or right angles. The Elders were introduced to a new work, the Bank Game. This game is used to reinforce the concept of long multiplication. The First Years learned the helping verbs and sang a song set to Jingle Bells to help them remember all of them.
I hope you had a chance to look at the information sent on the costumes needed for the play. If you need help don’t hesitate to ask. We have material if you need and some competent sewers willing to help.
If you are out and about and are able to purchase some colored pencils we could really use some. We go through a lot of pencils during the year.
Enjoy the Break,
Amy,Tatiana, and Rachel
