We are
pleased to be leasing space in Congregation Agudat
Achim's beautiful
school building - located at 2117 Union Street in the town of Niskayuna. This location is exciting
in that it is the best of both worlds - both peaceful and convenient.
It is set back from the road and abuts woods along the back and side while
at the same time being within walking distance to the vibrant Upper Union
Street community and on the bus route going into downtown Schenectady.
RiverRun is leasing
both classroom and office space. In addition,
RiverRun has use of the social hall, meeting room, professional kitchen, and
an outdoor play area. There is also additional classroom space
available for our use as we grow in the next few years. Note that all
areas are on the ground level and handicapped accessible.
In the spirit
of RiverRun's
focus on collaboration
with the community, we are happily working
with Congregation Agudat Achim to respect their religious
principles (e.g. no school in session on the Jewish Holy Days, etc.).
Finally,
note that while leasing space in a Jewish synagague, RiverRun remains an
independent, non-denominational entity and is not affiliated with
Congregation Agudat Achim. Judaism will, of course, be incorporated into discussions and studies
about world religions; however, its teachings will not receive special
emphasis.
