Job Opportunities - Classroom Assistant

Located in Schenectady, New York, RiverRun Community Montessori is seeking a classroom assistant to start Fall 2009. RiverRun is a small, non-profit Montessori elementary school for children ages 6 to 10 years. Staff is supported and appreciated by an active Board and parents.

The classroom assistant is responsible for assisting the head directress (teacher) with day-to-day classroom operations. S/he will help administer the Montessori curriculum and will provide a warm, nurturing, and peaceful learning environment for RiverRun’s students. S/he will work cooperatively with RiverRun families. S/he will work under the guidance of the head directress.

Minimum qualifications include a familiarity of the Montessori philosophy and a genuine love of children. Desirable qualifications include time spent in a Montessori setting and a college degree.
