After School Lead Teacher / Child Care Provider

We are looking for an After School Lead Teacher for children ages 3-12 years old that will also provide support to classrooms and supervise napping for our younger children. The lead teacher will create fun and engaging opportunities for our students after school and supervise an assistant teacher. Ideally, the candidate should have some experience running an after school program and be familiar with the Montessori Method; however, it is not required.

Schedule: Approximately 11am-6pm

Physical Education Instructor

We are seeking a creative, fun, and energetic physical education instructor to join our team of educators. We are looking for candidates who are familiar with a child-centered educational model that emphasizes a positive and peaceful approach with students and members of the community.

The PE classes are 45 minutes for each group of approximately 15 students.

We require Physical Education for 2 groups of students/ 45 minutes each.

Substitute Teachers
The classroom substitute teacher is responsible for assisting our head directress in either our Primary class (ages 3-6 years), Lower Elementary Class (grades 1-3), Upper Elementary Class (grades 4-6), or Middle School (grades 7-8) as the need arises.  S/he will help administer the Montessori curriculum and will provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and peaceful learning environment.  Responsibilities may include handling nap-time, preparing children to go outside, assisting young students in the restroom, or supervising recess/lunch.  S/he will work under the guidance of the head directress.
Minimum qualifications include a familiarity of the Montessori philosophy, a genuine love of children, and a strong team spirit.
This is an “as-needed” position of approximately 4-7 hours/day.  We generally follow the Niskayuna School district calendar and snow day schedule.
