Middle School Teacher

RiverRun Montessori seeks a teacher to direct our Middle School Program (Grade 7-8) as it grows. In the meantime, our Middle School teacher will be working collaboratively with our Upper Elementary teacher and faculty to engage our students in STEM related projects. We seek flexible, imaginative, creative teachers who can effectively plan and problem solve with a team. Confident, professional demeanor and a sense of humor are important characteristics. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and others. Above all, a strong respect for and love of children is essential to function effectively in this child centered Montessori environment.

Primary Assistant

We are seeking a Primary assistant teacher for children ages 3-6 years old that will provide support to the 3-6 classroom and supervise napping for our younger children.  Ideally, the candidate should have some experience working in a Montessori program and be familiar with the Montessori Method; however, it is not required. 

Schedule: Approximately 8am-3pm or 11am-3pm

Part Time Physical Education Instructor

RiverRun Community Montessori is seeking a creative, fun, and energetic physical education instructor to join our team of educators. We are looking for candidates who are familiar with a child-centered educational model that emphasizes a positive and peaceful approach with students and members of the community.

The PE classes are 45 minutes for each group of approximately 15 students.

We require Physical Education for 2 groups of students/ 45 minutes each.

Substitute Teachers
 
The classroom substitute teacher is responsible for assisting our head directress in either our Primary class (ages 3-6 years), Lower Elementary Class (grades 1-3), Upper Elementary Class (grades 4-6), or Middle School (grades 7-8) as the need arises.  S/he will help administer the Montessori curriculum and will provide a warm, nurturing, safe, and peaceful learning environment.  Responsibilities may include handling nap-time, preparing children to go outside, assisting young students in the restroom, or supervising recess/lunch.  S/he will work under the guidance of the head directress.
 
Minimum qualifications include a familiarity of the Montessori philosophy, a genuine love of children, and a strong team spirit.
 
This is an “as-needed” position of approximately 4-7 hours/day.  We generally follow the Niskayuna School district calendar and snow day schedule.
