Amy Klein
Director of RiverRun Montessori
Amy is a Certified Director through the American Montessori Society. She received her Montessori 6-9 Year Certificate from the Center for Montessori Education and previously taught Lower Elementary at RiverRun. Amy holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University.
Maureen Brown-Lansaw
Primary Lead Teacher
Maureen has over fifteen years of experience as a Montessori Primary Lead Teacher. She received her Early Children Montessori Certificate from NMTE; has New York state permanent teaching credential for Pre-K through 6th grade and school psychology; and has a MS in Educational Psychology and Statistics from the University at Albany.
Stephanie McCarthyAmy Haworth
Primary Assisant Teacher
Stephanie has been in school for over 52 years, either as a student or a teacher. She tried to retire, but her love for teaching and little ones pulled her back in. She has a teaching degree from Northern Michigan (K-9) with minors in English and Social Studies. She is also certified through NMAC for the Montessori Primary level. Besides teaching, her other joys are spending time with her family, traveling and relaxing at her lake house.
Eshwarie Roopnaraine-Attloo
Primary Associate Teacher
Born in Guyana and raised in Queens, NY, Eashwarie later moved to Connecticut and recently relocated to Schenectady after getting married. She’s spent the past five years working in Early Childhood Education, specializing in the Reggio Emilia approach.
Eshwarie’s journey at Naugatuck Valley Community College took her from student teacher to Lead Preschool Teacher, where she also mentored student teachers and classroom observers. She graduated Valedictorian with an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education.
She is passionate about children, education, and her Guyanese roots, especially Guyanese music and food.
Amy Haworth
Primary Assistant Teacher
Amy has been teaching in Montessori classrooms in the Schenectady area since 2004. She received her AMS Early Childhood certification at Northeast Montessori Institute and her Infant and Toddler training at Princeton Center for Teacher Education. She holds a BA from Gettysburg College.
Seromanie (Priya) Lekhram
Primary Assistant Teacher
Seromanie (Priya) Lekhram was born in Guyana, she migrated to the United States in 2012. She dedicated 13 years to teaching children ages 4–6 yrs. and later worked for two years as a secretary with the Department of Education. Deeply committed to serving others, she is actively involved in her temple and volunteers at local shelters, supporting food insecurity initiatives for both children and adults. She also assists in caring for elderly members of her community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, especially to her home country of Guyana, where she visits family and provides support to local school communities.
Sarah Lansaw
Lower Elementary Lead Teacher
Sarah has a Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Art History, with a minor in Education. She has lived and studied in both Italy and Scotland, and spent a year teaching ESL and core subjects in South Korea. A Montessori child herself, she has spent time over the years assisting in the Primary classroom and is a certified elementary teacher through the Montessori Elementary Treacher Training Collaborative.
Ken Rutsky
Assistant Teacher
Ken Rutsky holds an MFA in Painting from Clark University and a BA in Writing from SUNY Albany. He has worked as a professional tutor, art instructor and teachers' aide before joining RiverRun in 2026. He paints, writes, and composes music in his spare time.
Cynthia Cramsie
Upper Elementary Lead Teacher
Cyndy spent four years teaching at the International Montessori School of Beijing. Cyndy holds her Upper Elementary Montessori credential. We are so happy she is with us!
Joshua Borthwick
Assistant Teacher/Mandarin Teacher
Josh has a degree in East Asian Studies and a Masters degree in History. He taught elementary students Mandarin Chinese in Schenectady public schools for a year and a half before moving to the private sector where he worked for a software company in Asia. He was also a stay-at-home dad to his two sons, Avi and Miles. His hobbies include hiking, enjoying music, and sports.
Karen Roberts
Office Manager
Karen brings years of experience working as a Montessori primary and elementary classroom assistant. Karen has a wide range of knowledge and a commitment to the Montessori pedagogy that comes through in her work with children, parents and colleagues.
