News From a Graduate
Ava attended RiverRun Montessori from the age of four through the equivalent of third grade, and the foundation she built there continues to shine in everything she does today. The environment at RiverRun nurtured her natural curiosity, independence, and love of learning — qualities that have truly stayed with her.
Her transition from Montessori to entering public school in the 4th grade was seamless both academically and socially. Despite never having homework or traditional tests at RiverRun she was beyond where she needed to be academically when she made the switch to public school.
Now in 10th grade in public school, she continues to thrive both academically and personally. She is a delegate in her school’s Model UN club, was one of only five students in her grade to receive the Outstanding Student Award which is granted to students that show they are well rounded in academics, sports and clubs, and also display noteworthy character. She has also earned Most Improved Player on her modified and then JV Softball team two years in a row due to her ability to ask questions about the game that are needed to improve and to be able to take direction and be coachable. This comfort she shows towards her coaches and teachers and the willingness to ask and learn are reflective of the positive relationships she had with her foundational teachers at RiverRun and the Montessori methods they applied. She is enrolled in AP World History and Honors English, consistently making High Honors, and remains genuinely self-motivated — a quality that was deeply rooted in her Montessori experience.
We’re so grateful to RiverRun for giving her not only an excellent academic foundation but also a lifelong love of learning and confidence in her own abilities.
News From a Graduate
We are grateful to RiverRun Montessori and their fabulous teaching staff for the excellent education, guidance and love our son, Noah, received.
From a 4-year-old pre-schooler to the end of 6th grade, Noah thrived in his Montessori classrooms. His transition into public school for 7th grade was smooth in spite of the larger school size, changing classrooms, homework, standardized tests and all that goes with public school. Montessori prepared him to be an independent learner with strong problem solving skills. The grace and courtesy he learned at RiverRun went a long way towards his developing strong bonds with his new classmates and the affection of his teachers.
Though not a stand-out student at RiverRun, he received almost all A’s from grades 7-12, finishing with a strong GPA. He has excelled in athletics and has been accepted onto the LeMoyne College men’s lacrosse team after his spring 2021 high school graduation. He plans to study bio-engineering at LeMoyne.
Thank you, Maureen, Amy and all the RiverRun staff, for giving Noah such a strong start in life.

Upon graduation from undergraduate school she will continue her academic journey in higher education to pursue research in drug design for vaccines and immune pharmacology.
